Industrial exposure has its own importance in a career of a student who is pursuing a professional degree. It is considered as a part of college curriculum and objectives of industrial visit is to provide students an insight regarding internal working of companies. Here some of the Industrial exposure has been organized by the Department of Civil Engineering as:
Bhakra Dam-Himachal Pradesh
Munak Head Regulator-Karnal
Gohana Railway Station-Gohana
Hot Mix plant Sainipura-Gohana
Beri Udhyog plant-Karnal
DMRC Museum, Delhi & Many more
Survey camp is the imperative part of course curriculum which gives the students an opportunity to feel the difference between theoretical knowledge and practical work. The main objective is to develop the essential knowledge of different surveying techniques relevant to their professional and real work practice in civil engineering. The activities involved in survey camp appreciate practical difficulties in surveying on the field & train the students for self-management.
During Survey camp students prepare a topographical plan of a given area showing various features along with contours using suitable contour intervals. They will mark a road alignment of given gradient connecting any two stations on the map consisting some horizontal and vertical curves and will prepare an estimate of earthwork and submit the detailed technical report indicating therein practical difficulties faced during surveying for the features like ridge, line, valley lines, saddle cliffs etc. Various surveying exercises like Fly levelling, compass surveying, theodolite surveying, plane table surveying and Contouring are involved in two weeks’ survey camps.
The department organized regularly survey camp at numerous location such as Manali, Dalhousie, Dharamshala (HP), Rishikesh, Mussoorie, Jim Corbett and Nainital (UK) and many short camps.
Value Addition Courses:
Department facilitates their students by allowing them better learning opportunities in association with CADD Desk, CAPTA Infotech, UltraTech Cement and any other in the domains of Auto-CAD, Structural Analysis and Design -STAAD Pro, 3D max. The course objectives are to train the students in Structural Modeling, Designing and Analysis, Integrated Design and Finite Element Analysis. The course is very useful for Diploma, P.G and U.G Students of Civil Engineering.
